About Us
De Wet van Schalkwyk Inc. is a firm of Chartered Accountants offering a wide range of services. We are registered with the Independent Regulatory Board for auditors (IRBA) as well as with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). We are also registered with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
A significant portion of our activities involve the taxation and financial advising of individuals and small to medium sized businesses, and their related activities; trusts, estates, investments, partnerships etc.
We have many years of experience, have assisted our clients with a variety of activities and problems, and have successfully solved numerous investigations by SARS for our clients. We use state-of-the-art computerised systems and are continuously involved with tax research. We also ensure that we stay updated with any new developments in our profession.

Stephan van Schalkwyk - Director / Owner
Stephan matriculated at Benoni in 1988. Immediately after school he commenced employment at Coopers & Lybrand as trainee accountant and started his studies through RAU. After his articles he stayed on at Coopers & Lybrand until 1997. He passed his board exam in 1998 after which he joined Jaco de Wet as an audit manager. In 2002 he joined Jaco de Wet as a partner in the practice. Stephan has been involved in audits, accounting, tax and various other aspects during his years in the audit profession. He also holds a diploma in deceased estates and estate planning from UNISA.
